New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a public meeting in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on Tuesday appealed to the people of the country not to buy foreign goods and also appealed to emphasize on self-reliance. PM Modi gave a strong message to China without naming it and also explained to the people why they should use indigenous products.

Addressing the 20th anniversary celebrations of 'Gujarat Urban Development Scheme', PM Modi said that Operation Sindoor started with the power of the military. Now it will move forward with public power. By public power, I mean that every person should become a partner in the development of the country. Let us decide that in 2047, when India will complete its 100 years of independence, to make India a developed country, to immediately take India's economy from fourth to third place, we will not use any foreign product. We should make traders take an oath in every village that no matter how much profit the traders make, they will not sell foreign goods. But, unfortunately, even Ganesh ji comes from abroad, that too the Ganesh ji with small eyes, even Ganesh ji's eyes are not opening. Even the colors and pichkaris for Holi come from abroad.

PM Modi tried to send a message to China without naming it, as Chinese products are sold in large numbers in Indian markets during the festive season.

While appealing to the people, he said that for Operation Sindoor, I have to work as a citizen. Go to your house and make a list. How many foreign things are used in your house in 24 hours? Foreign things are reaching homes even in hairpins and toothpicks. We don't even know. If we have to save and build the country, then Operation Sindoor is not just the responsibility of the soldiers, Operation Sindoor is also the responsibility of 140 crore citizens.

He said that 20-25 years ago, if someone came from abroad, they were sent a list to bring these things. Today, those who come from abroad ask if they want to bring something. So the people here say that everything is available here, don't bring anything. We should be proud of Made in India. Operation Sindoor was started with the military force and now it has to be made successful with the power of the people.

PM Modi praised the valour of the Indian Army for 'Operation Sindoor'. He said, "This is the land of heroes. What we used to call a proxy war till now, after the scenes we witnessed after May 6, we can no longer make the mistake of calling it a proxy war. The reason is clear: when nine terrorist hideouts were identified and destroyed within just 22 minutes, it was a decisive action. And this time everything was done in front of cameras, so that no one could ask for proof at home."

He said, “The funerals of those who were killed on the night of 6 May were given state honours in Pakistan. Pakistani flags were placed on their coffins, the army there saluted them. This proves that terrorist activity is not a proxy war, this is your (Pakistan's) well thought out war strategy, you are fighting a war, so you will get the same answer.”
