Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): In light of the prevailing security situation, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Gautam Jain held a high-level meeting today at the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) to review the law and order situation across the district.

During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Agarwal conveyed the Punjab Government’s commitment on behalf of Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann to ensure the safety and security of every resident. He informed officials that the district is under constant surveillance via the ICCC and that a dedicated control room has also been established. The Deputy Commissioner urged residents to remain alert and follow all safety protocols particularly the blackout guidelines issued for public protection. He appealed to the public to avoid unnecessary travel and to stay indoors for their own safety.

Addressing the growing threat of misinformation, the administration issued a strict warning against the spread of fake news on news portals and social media. Officials stated that close monitoring is underway and cases will be registered against individuals or groups spreading false or panic-inducing information. Citizens have also been advised to avoid panic buying, and enforcement agencies have been directed to take firm action against hoarding and black marketing.

Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur confirmed that police personnel are fully deployed across the city to maintain peace and order. She urged residents to contact the emergency number 112 in case of any incident and called for public cooperation to uphold law and order. The joint efforts of the civil administration and police reflect the Punjab Government’s proactive stance in tackling the current situation while ensuring public interest remains protected.
