Srinagar (The Uttam Hindu): After the Pahalgam terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, the operation of security forces against terrorists and their associates has intensified. In this episode, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) Police has got a big success. Police has busted a big terrorist sleeper cell module by conducting a large-scale raid at 20 places in South Kashmir. During this, a large amount of objectionable material has been recovered, as well as some suspects have also been detained for questioning.

A release issued by the State Investigation Agency (SIA) said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police is constantly monitoring terrorist associates and over ground workers (OGWs) active in Kashmir. Technical intelligence had revealed that several sleeper cells in Kashmir were directly in touch with their masters sitting in Pakistan. These cells were involved in passing on sensitive and strategic information about security forces and important installations to Pakistan through messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal.

The SIA said these terror associates were also involved in online radical propaganda at the behest of terror commanders of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), posing a serious threat to national security and integrity.

The SIA confirmed that simultaneous raids were carried out at around 20 locations across all districts of South Kashmir. A huge amount of incriminating material has been seized during the raids and several suspects have been detained and are being questioned intensively. Preliminary investigations have revealed that these organisations are actively involved in terrorist conspiracy and are propagating anti-India activities. Their aim is not only to challenge the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India but also to incite discontent, public disorder and communal hatred. Security agencies are conducting further investigations to reach the roots of this network.
