Powerful Explosion in Balochistan: 5 Pakistani Soldiers Killed

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): At least five Pakistani soldiers were killed in a powerful IED (improvised explosive device) blast in Pakistan's troubled Balochistan province on Monday. At present, no organization has claimed responsibility for this attack, but Pakistan has often blamed the separatist group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) for such attacks in Balochistan.
This incident has happened at a time when incidents of violence are continuously increasing in Balochistan. Just last week, about 30 to 40 armed attackers closed an important highway passing through Balochistan and attacked a police van and kidnapped five policemen travelling in it. These incidents have raised serious questions about the security system of the province.
Balochistan has been facing separatist insurgency for a long time. Militant groups active here constantly target Pakistani security forces. These groups allege that the Pakistani government is depriving the Baloch people of their natural resources and land and violating their rights. The Baloch Liberation Army is considered one of the most active and organized insurgent organizations in Balochistan.
