Rahul Gandhi Raises Alarm on India's Election System at Brown University

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Indian Parliament Rahul Gandhi is on a US tour these days. During this, he interacted with students at Brown University in Boston, where he questioned India's election system and prominently raised the issue of Maharashtra Assembly elections.
'Serious problem in India's election system…', Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of Maharashtra elections at Brown University in America: Rahul Gandhi said that abnormalities were found in the voting process in Maharashtra elections. He claimed that as per the data till 5:30 pm, more people voted after 5:30 pm than the number of youth who voted, while voting should have ended by that time.
"The voting process takes an average of 3 minutes for a person. If 65 lakh people voted between 5:30 and 7:30 pm, it is not physically possible, unless people stood in queues till 2 am - which did not happen," Rahul Gandhi said.
He also alleged that the Election Commission is not being transparent. “We asked if the process is being videographed? They not only refused, but also changed the law so that videography cannot be demanded now.” Rahul Gandhi clearly said that the attitude of the Election Commission clearly shows that the election system has been compromised and this is a danger signal for democracy.
