Reena Gupta Appointed Chairperson of Punjab Pollution Control Board

Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu): The Government of Punjab has officially appointed Mrs. Reena Gupta as the new Chairperson of the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB), Patiala, with immediate effect. The nomination has been made under the powers conferred by Section 4(2)(a) of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974.

The order, issued by Priyank Bharti, IAS, Secretary of the Department of Science, Technology & Environment, states that the detailed terms and conditions of Mrs. Gupta’s appointment will be issued in due course. The decision was approved by the competent authority.

A copy of the order has been forwarded to various key officials, including the Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India, the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas and the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Punjab.

Mrs. Reena Gupta is expected to bring her extensive experience and expertise to the board, contributing significantly to the environmental and pollution control efforts in the state.
