Ropeway tragedy: Trolley falls, kills devotee, injures 7 in Mahasamund

Mahasamund (The Uttam Hindu): A very painful and soul-stirring news has come out from Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh. A major and horrific accident has happened with the devotees who had gone to visit a temple on the holy festival of Navratri. Here the cable of a ropeway trolley suddenly broke, due to which the trolley fell straight to the ground. In this horrific accident, a 28-year-old woman from Raipur died on the spot, while 7 others were seriously injured. The injured were immediately taken to the hospital where their condition remains critical.

The shadow of death hung in the air, the cable broke as it came down

According to information, this heartbreaking incident occurred around 10 a.m. The devotees were happily returning from the temple via trolley after having darshan of the Mother Goddess. Meanwhile, the trolley's cable suddenly broke on the way. As soon as the cable broke, the people on the trolley started screaming and in the blink of an eye, the trolley fell from a great height. According to the police administration, a total of eight people were on board the trolley at the time of the accident. The deceased victim of the accident has been identified as Ayushi Satkar (28 years), a resident of Raipur.

The injured are being treated in the hospital, the administration has ordered an investigation

Immediately after the accident, chaos erupted at the scene, spreading panic among the devotees. With the help of local residents and the temple committee, relief and rescue operations were immediately launched. All seven seriously injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, where a special team of doctors is treating them. Since it was Navratri, the temple was crowded, and the incident has caused panic in the entire area. Considering the seriousness of the situation, the administration has ordered an immediate investigation. It is now being investigated how the cable broke and who is responsible for this gross negligence.
