Russian Drone Strike on Ukrainian Bus Kills Nine, Hours After Peace Talks

Kiev/Moscow (The Uttam Hindu): A day after the peace talks between Russia and Ukraine in Turkey, Russia has carried out heavy attacks in many areas of Ukraine. A passenger bus was also targeted in these attacks, in which at least 9 people died. This action of Russia is being considered a setback to the peace process.
According to the report of the news agency TASS, the Russian army attacked a Ukrainian military camp. It is being told that the Ukrainian army used to store weapons in this camp. However, no information has been received immediately about the damage caused in this attack.
At the same time, Russia attacked a passenger bus with a drone. The bus exploded in this attack and at least 9 passengers are reported to have been killed. The Ukrainian police has strongly condemned this attack and called it a war crime. The police has also released pictures of the damaged bus, in which it can be seen that the upper part of the bus is completely destroyed.
This development has taken place at a time when talks were held between the delegations of Russia and Ukraine in Turkey on Friday. However, no agreement could be reached on a ceasefire in these talks. It has certainly come to light that the two countries have reached an agreement on the release of about 1000 prisoners.
Earlier, there were reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky could meet in Turkey itself, but Putin changed his schedule at the last moment.
The head of the Sumy military camp in Ukraine said that relief and rescue work is underway after the Russian attack. According to a Reuters report, both Russia and Ukraine have been accused of targeting each other's civilians.
During the peace talks, Ukraine was constantly insisting on a ceasefire. On the other hand, Russia had laid down a condition for a ceasefire that Ukraine should withdraw its army from the disputed areas, only then can progress be made in this direction.
There was also speculation about the mediation of former US President Donald Trump in these talks, but ultimately neither Trump nor Putin participated in it, as a result of which the talks took place only between the representatives of the two countries and ended inconclusively.
