Russia's Most Extensive Drone Attack on Ukraine : Launches Record 273 Drone Strike Resulting in Widespread Destruction

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Russia has carried out the biggest air attack on Ukraine so far. Information has come to light that Russia has fired about 273 drones on Ukraine causing a scene of devastation everywhere.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia targeted most of the attacks in the central region of Kiev and the eastern parts of the country, Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions. Earlier in February 2025, Russia had carried out 267 drone attacks, which was a record at that time. Recently, the peace talks between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul after three years failed. The two sides only agreed to exchange prisoners, but no agreement could be reached on a ceasefire. US President Donald Trump has announced to hold talks with Russian President Putin and Ukrainian President Zelensky on Monday. In the continuous attacks that took place in the early hours of Sunday, a 28-year-old woman was killed in the Obukhiv district of the Kiev region, while at least three people, including a 4-year-old child, were injured. All the injured are hospitalized. Many residential buildings were also damaged in this attack.

Ukrainian air defence forces shot down 88 drones, while 128 fake drones fell without causing any damage. The air strike alert continued for nine hours in Kiev and its surrounding areas. Andrei Kovalenko, head of Ukraine's Disinformation Centre, said, "Russia has always resorted to war to intimidate at the time of negotiations." The previous day also, a bus in Ukraine's Sumy region was attacked by a Russian drone attack, in which nine civilians were killed. Ukrainian President Zelensky has termed it a "deliberate attack" and demanded strict sanctions on Russia. Russia, however, claimed that they had targeted a military base.
