SC Grants Relief to Ex-Trainee IAS Pooja Khedkar, Stays Action Till May 21

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Former trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar, who was caught in a fraud case, has got a big relief from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has directed that no punitive action, including arrest, will be taken against her till May 21.
However, the court has directed Pooja Khedkar to cooperate in the investigation and has also asked her to appear before the Delhi Police on May 2. During the hearing of the case, the Supreme Court remarked that no concrete investigation has been done in this case so far. The court directed the Delhi Police to complete the investigation as soon as possible.
Pooja Khedkar is accused of cheating in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination and wrongly taking advantage of the OBC and Divyang quota. Her interim protection in this case has been extended several times before. Delhi Police had told the court that custodial interrogation of Pooja Khedkar is necessary to investigate the matter in depth and unearth a larger conspiracy. However, the Supreme Court has currently granted her interim protection and asked the police to complete the investigation expeditiously. The next hearing of this case will be on May 21.
