Sikar tragedy: Mother and 4 children found dead, probe underway

Sikar (Uttam Hindu News): A horrific incident occurred on Saturday at Anirudh Residency on Palwas Road in the city, shocking the entire area. A mother and her four innocent children (two sons and two daughters) committed suicide by consuming poison. This horrific act marked the end of the entire family.

According to reports, when a woman named Kiran remained unresponsive for a long time on Saturday morning, neighbors feared something was amiss. When they called out without a response, they broke down the door. The scene inside horrified everyone; the woman and her four children were lying unconscious in the house.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Sadar Police Station in-charge Indraj Marodiya arrived at the scene with a police team. According to the police, prima facie it appears to be a case of mass suicide, and a packet of poisonous substance was recovered from the scene. While the exact reason behind the suicides is still unclear, preliminary investigations suggest financial hardship and domestic discord as possible causes.

This horrific incident has cast a pall of gloom over the entire area. Neighbors say the family seemed happy and are incredulous that someone would take such a drastic step. The deceased woman, Kiran, was known as a quiet woman, and her children attended a nearby school.

At present, the police have sent all five bodies to the hospital for post-mortem and are conducting intensive interrogation of relatives and neighbours to find out the real reasons behind the suicide.
