STF Arrests Notorious Shooter Rohit in Gurgaon After Intense Gunfight, Linked to Lawrence Bishnoi Network

Gurugram(The Uttam Hindu): In a high-stakes early morning operation, the Special Task Force (STF) on Sunday apprehended wanted shooter Rohit, a criminal carrying a ₹25,000 bounty, after a fierce encounter on the Gurugram-Faridabad highway.
The shooter, linked to the Rohit Godara and Lawrence Bishnoi crime syndicate, was shot in the leg during the exchange of fire. He is currently undergoing treatment at Rohtak PGI after initial stabilization at Gurugram Civil Hospital.
Gunfire on the Highway
STF Inspector Narendra Chauhan acted on specific intelligence that Rohit would be traveling near Baliyawas village. The team set up a checkpoint and attempted to intercept him. Instead of surrendering, Rohit opened fire on the STF team.
In self-defense, the officers returned fire, injuring him in the leg. The suspect was swiftly overpowered, disarmed, and taken into custody.
Gang Ties and Criminal Record
Police confirmed that Rohit operated as a shooter for international fugitive Rohit Godara, who continues to run criminal activities from abroad in coordination with Lawrence Bishnoi, a name synonymous with organized crime in India.
Rohit is a key suspect in multiple violent crimes across Haryana and Rajasthan, including charges under the Arms Act and Indian Penal Code:
Sri Ganganagar (Kotwali PS, Rajasthan): Wanted in a serious Arms Act case.
Mahendragarh (Kanina PS, Haryana): Involved in multiple IPC violations.
Gurugram (DLF Phase-1 PS): Booked under severe BNS sections, currently under investigation.
Pacheri PS (Rajasthan): Charged with attempted murder under Section 307 IPC and arms-related offenses.
Investigations reveal that the accused was directly involved in threats issued by the gang to a former district councilor in Gurugram, underscoring his importance in the syndicate’s operations.
A Pattern of Organized Violence
Authorities believe that Rohit had been actively involved in extortion, targeted shootings, and gang communications on behalf of his handlers abroad. His arrest is being viewed as a significant blow to the transnational operations of the Bishnoi-Godara network. Law enforcement officials are continuing their investigation to uncover further links and possible accomplices.
