Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu) : In a significant crackdown on corruption within the state police force, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has arrested Amandeep Kaur, a dismissed woman constable, after uncovering assets and expenditures grossly disproportionate to her known sources of income. The Bureau has also ordered the freezing of her lavish assets — including two prime land plots in Bathinda valued at over ₹1.17 crore, a Mahindra Thar SUV, a Royal Enfield Bullet, a Rolex watch, and three high-end smartphones, among other possessions.

According to a spokesperson from the Vigilance Bureau, Amandeep Kaur, formerly serving as Constable No. 621/Mansa in the Punjab Police, was under investigation in connection with Complaint No. 94/2025. The inquiry revealed glaring financial inconsistencies in her declared income and actual expenditure patterns during her tenure from 2018 to 2025. The vigilance probe revealed that Amandeep Kaur declared a total income of ₹1,08,37,550, whereas her actual expenditures skyrocketed to ₹1,39,64,802.97 — an excess of ₹31,27,252.97, which constitutes a 28.85% disparity.
