Election Commission Speeds Up Voter ID Card Delivery: Now Get Your EPIC in 15 Days

New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): The Election Commission has announced a significant improvement in the voter ID card delivery process. Electors can now expect to receive their Elector Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) within 15 days of new enrollment or changes in particulars. This is a substantial reduction from the previous timeframe of over a month.

Key Features of the New System:

1. Real-time Tracking: A new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been introduced to ensure real-time tracking of each stage, from EPIC generation to delivery.

2. SMS Notifications: Electors will receive notifications via SMS at each stage, keeping them informed about the status of their EPIC.

3. Dedicated IT Module: A new IT module on the ECINet platform will streamline the workflow and ensure seamless delivery.

4. Integration with Department of Posts: The Department of Posts' Application Programme Interface (API) will be integrated with the ECINet for efficient delivery.
