Top Naxal Commander Manish Yadav Killed in Encounter, Rs 10 Lakh Bounty Naxal Kundan Arrested

Latehar (Uttam Hindu News): Police has achieved a big success in Latehar, Jharkhand. Latehar police has killed Naxalite Manish Yadav who had a reward of Rs 5 lakh on his head. Apart from this, Naxalite Kundan Kherwar who had a reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head has also been arrested.
This encounter took place between Karamkhad and Dauna of Mahuadanr police station area. According to the information, Latehar police had received information that Naxalite Manish Yadav along with his squad was present in the forest between Dauna and Karamkhad of Mahuadanr police station area. After this, a team was formed to take action against the Naxalites and the police cordoned off the area to catch the Naxalites.
During this, the Naxalites started firing on the police. In retaliation, Naxal commander Manish Yadav was killed. This encounter started late on Sunday night and continued till Monday morning. During this operation, the police also arrested Naxalite Kundan Kherwar, who had a reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head. Palamu DIG YS Ramesh has confirmed the killing of the Naxalite.
Police have also recovered two X.95 automatic rifles from the spot. Apart from this, a search operation is being conducted by the police in the area.
Earlier, on May 23, two Naxalites carrying a bounty on their heads were killed in an encounter in Latehar. One of them had a bounty of Rs 10 lakh on his head and the other had a bounty of Rs 5 lakh on his head. Jharkhand DGP Anurag Gupta had termed this success of the police as a “huge success”.
Anurag Gupta told the media that the Naxalite Pappu Lohara killed in this encounter was the state's top wanted criminal. More than 100 cases were registered against him. This is not just a "success, a very big success". There were many cases of murder, land looting and other serious crimes against Pappu Lohara. He was also wanted in the murder of the Deputy Commandant of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). He had killed many people in Latehar and grabbed land. In a way, "a big burden on the earth" has ended.
