Tragedy Driven by Superstition: Woman Kills Child Believing He Was Born of a White Jinn
Faridabad (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident has come to light in Faridabad, adjacent to Delhi. A woman living in Sainik Colony here, under the influence of a tantrik, threw her two-year-old innocent son into the Agra canal on Sunday night. It is being told that on the advice of the tantrik, the woman started considering her son as the 'child of a white jinn'.
The incident took place near the BPTP bridge on Sunday night, where locals saw the woman throwing the child into the canal. People immediately caught the woman and informed the police. The police reached the spot and took the woman into custody. According to initial information, while being caught, the woman kept denying that she threw the child into the canal.
The police and administration have launched a massive operation to search for the child. A team of fire brigade, State Disaster Management Force (SDRF), police and local divers are searching for the child in the Agra canal.
The woman's husband Kapil Lukra lodged a complaint with the police and said that he was married to Megha Lukra about 16 years ago and they have two children - 14-year-old daughter Manya and about two-year-old son Tanmay alias Ronik. He told that his wife Megha was in contact with a Tantrik named Mita Bhatia for a long time.
According to Kapil Lukra, Tantrik Mita Bhatia used to provoke his wife by telling her that their son Tanmay was the 'son of a white jinn'. The Tantrik had told Megha that this child would destroy their entire family. Megha was mentally disturbed by these things and was under stress thinking that her son was the 'son of a white jinn'.
On Sunday evening around 5 pm, Megha left the house with her son Tanmay without telling anyone. Her husband started looking for her. Around 9 pm, the police informed Kapil that a woman named Megha has been taken into custody and she is accused of throwing her son into the canal. Hearing this, Kapil reached the BPTP police station in a panic.
Locals told the police that they saw a woman trying to throw a child in her arms into the canal on the BPTP bridge. They tried to stop the woman by making noise, but by the time they reached, the woman had already thrown the child into the canal. People immediately caught the woman and informed the police by calling on Dial-112.
According to the SHO of BPTP police station, on the complaint of Kapil Lukra, a case has been registered against his wife Megha Lukra and the Tantrik Mita Bhatia who instigated her under murder and other related sections. The police is interrogating Megha Lukra who has been taken into custody. At the same time, police teams are continuously raiding in search of the absconding Tantrik Mita Bhatia. The police is investigating every aspect of this heinous incident in depth.
