Tragedy Strikes Panchkula: Seven of a Family Found Dead in Car After Alleged Suicide Over Debt

Panchkula (The Uttam Hindu): A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Panchkula, Haryana. Sensation spread after seven dead bodies were found in a car parked outside a house located in Sector-27 of Panchkula. Upon receiving the information, senior police officers reached the spot. The entire matter is being investigated thoroughly. Police investigation revealed that due to being troubled by debt, seven members of a family committed suicide by consuming poison. The deceased include husband and wife, their three children, and two elderly members.

Senior police officers along with the forensic team are present at the scene. The forensic team is collecting all the evidence from inside the car. Panchkula DCP Himadri Kaushik said that they had received information that six people were brought to the hospital. When we reached here, it was found that all had died. Another person was brought to the Civil Hospital located in Sector-6 for treatment, where doctors also declared him dead.

According to the information received, Praveen Mittal (42) was a resident of Dehradun in Uttarakhand. He had come to Panchkula with his family to attend a five-day Hanumant Katha. The family included his father Deshraj Mittal, mother, wife, and three children. This incident occurred while they were returning to Dehradun. According to the information, the Mittal family was struggling with financial difficulties and debt.

For the investigation, the police will also visit the deceased's local residence in Dehradun. People there will be questioned. This incident in Panchkula has revived memories of the Burari case that took place in Delhi seven years ago. In 2018, eleven members of a single family in Burari had died by suicide. The deceased ranged in age from 15 to 57 years. All the bodies were found hanging.
