Ramban (The Uttam Hindu): Three Indian Army soldiers have been martyred in a tragic road accident in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident took place near Battery Chhasma on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH44), where an army vehicle fell into a deep ditch. Relief and rescue operations have been started immediately after receiving information about the accident.

It is being told that the vehicle fell into a ditch about 700 feet deep. In the pictures received from the spot, the badly damaged remains of the vehicle are seen scattered in the ditch. Along with the dead bodies of the martyred soldiers, their belongings and some documents were also found scattered at the accident site. According to news agency PTI, the accident took place around 11:30 am near Battery Chashma on National Highway 44. The truck was part of an army convoy going from Jammu to Srinagar.

Soon after getting information about the accident, teams of police, SDRF (State Disaster Response Force), locals and army reached the spot and are jointly carrying out rescue operations. At present, the focus is on removing the bodies from the ditch and other necessary action.
