Good News: Last Date for Updating Aadhaar Card Extended by UIDAI

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has once again given great news to crores of Aadhar card holders of the country. UIDAI has extended the last date for uploading documents in the Aadhar card for a full year. Earlier this free service was to end on June 14, 2025, which has now been extended till June 14, 2026. UIDAI has shared this information through a post on its official social media platform X.
It has been clarified by the government that citizens whose Aadhaar card is 10 years old or more are required to update their Aadhaar card with proof of their identity and address. This means that if your Aadhaar card was made ten years ago and you have not updated it even once in this period, then you must update it. If you do not do this, your Aadhaar card can also be deactivated.
To update Aadhaar, you will need two important documents: first, identity card and second, address proof. Usually, a fee of Rs 50 is charged at Aadhaar Seva Kendras for Aadhaar update. However, according to UIDAI, this service is available absolutely free till June 14, 2026. You can use documents like PAN card as identity proof and voter card as address proof.
