US Secretary of State Antony Blinken Reaches Out to Pakistan Army Chief Amid Rising India-Pak Tensions

Islamabad (The Uttam Hindu): Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, a significant development has come to light. It is reported that the United States has directly reached out to Pakistan's Army Chief. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke on the phone with General Asim Munir, the Chief of the Pakistan Army.
Blinken urged both Pakistan and India to find ways to de-escalate the current tensions. A spokesperson from the U.S. State Department stated that Blinken also offered U.S. assistance in initiating constructive dialogue to prevent future conflicts. This development comes at a time when military skirmishes continue to take place along the border between India and Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has claimed that it launched a military operation early on Saturday against India, targeting several sites, including a missile storage facility in northern India. The U.S. initiative is seen as an effort to ease tensions in the region.
