Jammu (The Uttam Hindu): The Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, a 670-kilometer-long highway, is nearing completion. The expressway will connect Delhi to Katra, reducing travel time to just six hours. The project, part of the Bharatmala initiative, aims to improve connectivity and boost economic growth in the region. The 116-kilometer stretch in Haryana has been completed, with vehicles already plying on it. The expressway passes through several districts in Haryana, including Jhajjar, Rohtak, Sonipat, Jind, and Kaithal.

The expressway has made it easier for people in Gohana to access Delhi and Punjab. With exit and entry points near villages Rukhi and Gangana, travelers can now reach Delhi or the Punjab border in just an hour. The expressway will reduce travel time from Delhi to Katra from 12-13 hours to just six hours. The distance between the two cities will also be reduced by 57 kilometers, from 727 kilometers to 670 kilometers.

The expressway is expected to boost economic growth in the region, with industrialists already showing interest in setting up units in Gohana. The project will also create employment opportunities for the youth. The expressway has been designed with safety features, including railings on both sides and plants on the divider. Two-wheelers, autos, and tractors will not be allowed on the expressway due to high speeds. The work in Punjab is expected to be completed by December, after which the entire expressway will be operational. The project is a significant step towards improving connectivity and promoting economic growth in the region.
