Zero Tolerance: 4 Cops Caught Red-Handed, Fazilka SSP Suspended after Police Officers Caught Taking Bribe

Fazilka (The Uttam Hindu) – In another major crackdown under the Punjab government's anti-corruption campaign, the SSP of Fazilka has been suspended, police sources confirmed. The action comes a day after four police officers from the Fazilka police station were arrested on corruption charges.
According to reports, the Vigilance Department caught the four policemen red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh. They were allegedly demanding money in exchange for facilitating a compromise in a case. Sending out a strong message, Punjab Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said:
"There will be no distinction between high or low rank, or insiders and outsiders when it comes to corruption. Anyone found guilty will not be spared." This move by the Punjab government reflects its strict enforcement of a zero-tolerance policy against corruption.
