Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), the country's largest private airport operator, and The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), the country's largest hospitality company, signed a multi-hotel agreement on Thursday.

Under this initiative, eight hotels with a total capacity of 2,000 rooms will be developed in four cities across the country: Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, and Guwahati. A press release issued by the company stated that these hotels will operate under the Taj, Vivanta, Gateway, and Ginger brands, offering differentiated accommodation and hospitality experiences for business, leisure, and leisure travelers. Under this partnership, Adani Airports will develop hotels, which will be operated by IHCL through its multi-brand hospitality portfolio. This will provide high-quality hospitality facilities at major airports.

To this end, Adani Airports has formed Adani Airport City Limited. Its objective is to develop over 655 acres of land at eight airports located in seven states, including approximately 440 acres in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. In the first phase, Adani Airport City will invest over ₹20,000 crore to develop approximately 22 million square feet of land in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, and Guwahati.

The agreement includes three Taj hotels, two Vivanta hotels, one Gateway hotel, and two Ginger hotels, which will provide hospitality services for a variety of travelers. Under this agreement, Mumbai Airport will have a Taj hotel at Terminal 2. Lucknow Airport will have a Vivanta and a Ginger hotel. Ahmedabad will have a Taj and a Vivanta hotel, with development progressing significantly, while Guwahati will have a Taj, a Gateway, and a Ginger hotel. Together, these eight hotels at major airports will offer a wide range of services, including accommodation, dining, meetings and events, wellness, and entertainment.

Jeet Adani, Director, Adani Airport Holdings Limited, said, “Across the globe, major airports are now evolving into integrated hubs that foster trade, tourism, and urban development. Our partnership with IHCL is an important step in this journey. Through this, we are bringing together our hospitality-led mixed-use complexes and India's leading hospitality company. Our goal is to build world-class hotels in major cities, including iconic brands like the Taj. Together, we want to strengthen the hospitality ecosystem in our Airport City developments and contribute to the long-term economic growth of the regions we serve.”
