New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Strengthening India's cyber security capabilities, CERT-In and Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani Group have collaborated to launch a professional development programme in cyber security for professionals from government, public sector and industry.

An 8-week program in Cyber Security has been designed for working professionals from Government, Public Sector Undertakings, and Industry, which will be conducted by BITS Pilani through its Centre for Research Excellence in National Security (CRENS) at its Hyderabad campus, along with its technology partner Rapifuzz, under the guidance of CERT-In.

CERT-In is India's national agency for cyber incident response.

This collaboration aims to meet the growing demand for structured, high-impact capacity building in cybersecurity, an area of increasing importance amid emerging digital threats and cybersecurity challenges.

Dr. Sanjay Bahl, Director General, CERT-In said, “India’s cyber resilience capabilities are not only reflected in the deployment and development of indigenous cutting-edge technologies, but also find their true strength in the development of a vibrant, highly skilled talent pool prepared to meet the emerging challenges of the digital and quantum ages.”

He said that CERT-In's collaboration with BITS-Pilani is an important step in this journey.

This effort is designed to equip professionals with cutting-edge cyber security expertise as well as foster a dynamic synergy between the emerging demands of the industry and academic excellence.

Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will receive a Professional Development Certificate in Cyber Security, co-branded by CERT-In and BITS Pilani.

In the era of increasing cyber threats across the globe, CERT-In plays a vital role in securing India's digital infrastructure.

Designated as the national agency to deal with cyber incidents under Section 70B of the Information Technology Act, 2000, CERT-In is at the core of India’s cyber security strategy, from incident prevention and real-time threat mitigation to enhancing cyber resilience through Security Quality Management Services.
