Anil Ambani in Hot Seat: ED Dials In for ₹17,000 Cr Loan Scam

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a ₹17,000 crore loan fraud case. He has been directed to appear for questioning on August 5 at the ED headquarters in New Delhi.
Sources indicate that Ambani's statement will be recorded under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). His appearance comes as part of the agency’s ongoing investigation into the alleged financial irregularities.
The summons follows a series of raids conducted by the ED on multiple firms and individuals linked to the Reliance Group. These searches, which began on July 24, reportedly continued for three days, intensifying the scrutiny on the financial dealings of the conglomerate. The investigation is focused on suspected misappropriation of massive loan amounts, and the agency is expected to question Ambani on fund flow patterns and corporate transactions flagged during the raids.
