Musk's recent statements suggest that the microblogging site is seriously considering surpassing the giant video platform YouTube in terms of revenue and paying creators more than it does.

This discussion started when a user named Nick Shirley wrote a post on X, saying that he had been asking his friends to post content on X for months, but his friends weren't even trying. Shirley explained that his friends felt their time was better spent (monetarily) on other platforms. This post caught Elon Musk's attention, and he immediately tagged X's product head, Nikita Beer, writing, "Okay, let's do this (pay more), but any manipulation of the system will not be tolerated."
