Elon Musks X to potentially outpay YouTube: A game changer for creators?

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Content creators on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) are in for a treat. Company owner Elon Musk has hinted that X is preparing to shower creators with money soon. Musk's recent statements suggest that the microblogging site is seriously considering surpassing the giant video platform YouTube in terms of revenue and paying creators more than it does.

Musk's action on Nick Shirley's complaint

This discussion started when a user named Nick Shirley wrote a post on X, saying that he had been asking his friends to post content on X for months, but his friends weren't even trying. Shirley explained that his friends felt their time was better spent (monetarily) on other platforms. This post caught Elon Musk's attention, and he immediately tagged X's product head, Nikita Beer, writing, "Okay, let's do this (pay more), but any manipulation of the system will not be tolerated."

The system is ready to prevent fraud

Nikita Bear immediately responded to Musk's directive. She assured Musk that the plan was underway. Responding to Musk's concerns about system glitches, Nikita stated that she had a method that would eliminate 99% of fraud. This conversation between Elon Musk and his team attracted numerous users, and it is being hailed as a game-changer for the social media world.

Competition will increase in the digital world

Elon Musk's statement about paying creators more comes at a time when digital platforms are competing between original and AI content. Each platform is keen to retain original content creators. If X indeed begins paying more than YouTube, it will open up another significant earning option for content creators. However, the company hasn't yet clarified how much money will be paid per view, but details are expected to be released soon.
