New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) : For millions of farmers across the country, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is no longer just a government aid, but has become the backbone of agriculture. The central government has released 21 installments under this scheme so far, and farmers are now eyeing the 22nd installment.

According to government rules, funds under the PM Kisan Yojana are transferred to farmers' accounts three times a year—from April to July, August to November, and December to March. The last installment was released in November 2025, making the 22nd installment scheduled between December 2025 and March 2026. Based on administrative preparations and past trends, it is estimated that the government may release the next installment in March 2026 or early April 2026.

Farmers may get good news in the budget

The country is currently awaiting the Union Budget, to be presented on February 1st. It is believed that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's budget speech may contain a major announcement for farmers. Currently, under the PM Kisan Yojana, eligible farmers receive a yearly assistance of ₹6,000, distributed in three installments of ₹2,000. Given rising inflation and the cost of farming, there has been a long-standing demand to increase this amount. There is speculation that the government may announce an increase in the Samman Nidhi amount in the budget, which would provide significant relief to farmer families.

Complete e-KYC before installment

As always, this time too, there is a possibility that money will be stuck in the accounts of many farmers. The biggest reason for this is incomplete e-KYC. The government has made it clear that farmers whose e-KYC is incomplete will not receive the benefit of the next installment. If you haven't completed e-KYC yet, complete it immediately. There is no need to go anywhere for this. The government has provided OTP-based e-KYC facility. If your mobile number is linked to Aadhaar, you can complete this process from home. For e-KYC, go to the official portal pmkisan.gov.in , select the 'e-KYC' option, enter your Aadhaar number, and complete the verification via OTP.
