Festival Bonanza! Railways Launches ‘Round Trip Package’ with 20% Discount

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): To deal with the heavy rush in trains and ticket rush during the festive season, Indian Railways has started a special offer for passengers. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has announced a "Round Trip Package" scheme, under which a 20 percent discount will be given on the base fare of return on booking both the tickets together.
According to the Railway Minister, this scheme will divide the passenger rush on different dates during the festivals, which will lead to better use of trains and passengers will be able to get tickets easily. Railways has given instructions to make announcements in the press, media and at stations for its promotion.
Key points of the plan
-The discount will be available only to those passengers who book the return and return tickets with the same name, details, class and station pair (OD Pair).
-The return ticket should be for travel between *13 to 26 October 2025*, while the return ticket must be between *17 November to 1 December 2025*.
-The return ticket has to be booked first, after which the return ticket will be taken from the "Connecting Journey" feature.
-The rule of Advance Reservation Period (ARP) will not apply on the return ticket.
- Both tickets should be *confirmed*. There will be no facility for change or refund in the ticket.
- No other discount, voucher, pass, PTO or rail travel coupon will be valid on the return ticket.
- The scheme will be applicable in all classes and trains, including special trains, but this facility will not be available in trains with flexi fare.
