New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The central government has made a major and important change in the booking process of LPG gas cylinders connected to the kitchens of common people. The waiting period for booking an LPG gas cylinder has now been increased from 21 days to 25 days. This strict step taken by the government is mainly aimed at curbing the hoarding of gas cylinders and completely controlling black marketing in the market.

Domestic consumers to get first priority, talks with new countries intensify

Along with this major change, the government has also issued strict instructions to all refineries in the country to increase LPG production. Oil and gas companies have been clearly directed to prioritize the needs of domestic LPG consumers instead of commercial connections. According to sources, the Government of India is now also searching for new international partners for LPG supply to ensure uninterrupted fulfilment of domestic demand. In this direction, major countries such as Algeria, Australia, Canada and Norway have also approached India regarding gas supply.

Big relief on petrol and diesel prices, no increase expected for now

There is another big relief for the general public, as there is currently no possibility of an increase in petrol and diesel prices in the country. Experts say that petrol and diesel prices in India will not rise unless crude oil prices in the international market cross 130 US dollars per barrel. The main reason behind this is that India currently has sufficient crude oil reserves. In addition, as a strategic step, alternative secure sea routes have also been strengthened for sourcing crude oil in case the Strait of Hormuz is closed. It has also been claimed that the country has an adequate stock of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) used in aircraft.
