Jammu Rail Division Catches 697 Ticketless Passengers in One Day, Collects ₹4.33 Lakh Fine

Jammu (The Uttam Hindu): To ensure better facilities for passengers, the Jammu Division continues to run various campaigns under the supervision of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM) Mr. Uchit Singhal. Along with providing quality food, clean drinking water, and hygienic washrooms, the division also conducts regular ticket-checking drives at stations and onboard trains to control ticketless and irregular travel. On 14 November, a special ticket-checking campaign was carried out across the division.
This campaign was conducted at multiple railway stations by teams formed by Senior DCM Mr. Uchit Singhal. The main aim was to curb ticketless and irregular travel while ensuring passengers enjoy a safe, comfortable, and orderly journey.
During the one-day drive on 14 November, a total of 697 ticketless passengers were detected, and a penalty of ₹4,33,295 was collected from them.
Sharing details about ticket-checking activities for November, Senior DCM Mr. Singhal said, “Special ticket-checking drives are conducted regularly in the division. From 1 November to 15 November, a total of 4,861 ticketless passengers were fined, and around ₹30,04,260 was collected as penalty.” He added that such campaigns discourage ticketless travel, protect railway revenue, and ensure added safety and convenience for passengers who travel with valid tickets.
