Jio’s surprise move: Two budget-friendly prepaid plans discontinued

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Reliance Jio has shocked its prepaid users by discontinuing two affordable plans. According to reports, the company has discontinued its Rs 209 and Rs 249 daily 1GB data plans. Both these plans were quite popular among users looking for unlimited calling and data at a low price.
According to media reports, the company has first discontinued the Rs 209 plan. In this entry-level plan, users used to get 1GB data per day (total 22GB), unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day with a validity of 22 days.
Along with this, the Rs 249 plan has also been discontinued. In this plan, users used to get 1GB data per day (total 28GB), unlimited calling and 100 SMS for a validity of 28 days. However, according to a report by Telecom Talk, this plan may still be available for recharge at Jio stores and POS retailers.
After the discontinuation of these plans, Jio users have a few other options in the entry-level segment:
1.5GB daily data plan: This plan comes with a validity of 22 days. In this, the company offers 1.5GB data every day, unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day. This plan also includes free access to Jio TV and Jio AI Cloud.
Plan with 2GB daily data: Apart from this, a plan comes with a shorter validity of 14 days, in which 2GB data is available every day. This plan also offers unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day and access to Jio TV and Jio AI Cloud. Also, eligible users are being given the benefit of unlimited 5G data.
