New Year begins with LPG price hike; find out updated cylinder rates in your city

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): With the start of the new year 2026, both ordinary people and businesses have been hit by inflation. The government has increased the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder by ₹111. The new rates came into effect today. This increase will directly impact the costs of hotels, restaurants, and small businesses.


Inflation hit on the first day of the new year, with LPG cylinder prices rising; find out what the new rates will be in your city: After the price hike, a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder will now be available in Delhi for Rs 1691.50, which was earlier available for Rs 1580.50. In Kolkata, its price has increased to Rs 1795, whereas earlier it was Rs 1684. In Mumbai, a commercial cylinder will now be available for Rs 1642.50, which was earlier available for Rs 1531.


However, there has been no change in the price of 14 kg domestic LPG cylinder. The government has clarified that relief has been provided to domestic consumers for the time being. Domestic LPG prices remain between Rs 850 and Rs 960 in most cities of the country. Currently, a domestic LPG cylinder is available for Rs 853 in Delhi, Rs 852.50 in Mumbai, Rs 890.50 in Lucknow, Rs 860 in Ahmedabad, Rs 905 in Hyderabad, Rs 916.50 in Varanasi and Rs 951 in Patna.
