Meta launches AI Support Assistant for Facebook and Instagram, offering instant help, scam reporting, and improved content moderation with advanced AI systems.

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Meta Platforms on Thursday announced the launch of its new Meta AI Support Assistant for Facebook and Instagram, aiming to strengthen user support and content moderation across its platforms.
According to the company, the AI assistant can not only answer user queries but also perform several key actions on their behalf. The tool will be available 24×7 and is designed to respond in under five seconds.
What the AI assistant can do
As per Meta’s official update, the feature is being rolled out globally across Android, iOS, and desktop help centers. It is designed to assist users with a range of issues, including:
Reporting scams or fake accounts
Explaining reasons behind content removal
Submitting appeals against content takedowns
Managing privacy settings
Changing passwords and editing profiles
Currently, most of these features are available on Facebook, with Instagram integration expected soon. The assistant is built directly into the apps, eliminating the need to visit separate help pages.
Boost to content moderation
Meta also highlighted its efforts to enhance content moderation using advanced AI systems. These systems are capable of identifying scams, fraud, impersonation, and harmful content with improved accuracy.
During early testing, the company reported:
Detection of around 5,000 scam attempts daily
Over 80% reduction in complaints related to fake celebrity accounts
AI outperforming human teams in detecting adult content by nearly double
Meta stated that these advancements are expected to make its platforms safer while also improving the overall user experience.
