Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): Mumbai has been named the happiest city in Asia in 2025. According to the Global Human Happiness Report, Mumbai secured the top spot based on its quality of life, healthcare services, social security, economic opportunity and cultural diversity.

The report ranked cities on criteria such as happiness, employment, education, healthcare, and quality of life. Mumbai scored highly in all these parameters, surpassing other major Asian cities to take first place.

Experts believe Mumbai's achievement is a result of the city's economic growth, improved health and education facilities, cultural richness, and social cohesion. The level of satisfaction and happiness of Mumbai's citizens also contributed significantly to this ranking.

This year's list of the top 10 happiest Asian cities includes Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Seoul, Colombo, Bangkok, Osaka, and Shanghai. According to the report, these cities have made significant improvements in terms of citizens' well-being and quality of life.

Experts also believe that such reports help policymakers improve city planning and development strategies. Mumbai's top ranking is a matter of pride for residents and could serve as a source of inspiration for other cities.
