Navi Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): American electric car manufacturer Tesla is working to strengthen its foothold in the Indian market. After launching its first electric car, the Model Y, in India in July last year, the company is rapidly expanding its charging infrastructure. In this series, Tesla has launched its new supercharging station in Navi Mumbai. The biggest feature of this new station is that it has been built inside a mall, so that car owners can now easily charge their vehicles while also shopping and having fun.

Fast charging facility will be available in the mall parking lot

According to information provided by the company, this new Supercharging station has been installed at Nexus Seawoods Mall in Navi Mumbai. This is Tesla's first 'in-mall' charging station in India, built in the mall's B-1 parking area. This new facility, comprising a total of eight chargers, will prove to be a major relief for Tesla car owners in the vicinity. Previously, the company has installed charging stations in Gurugram, Delhi, and other parts of Mumbai. Tesla is now rapidly expanding its Supercharger network across the country in places where people spend their leisure time, such as highway rest stops, food courts, and shopping malls.

Ready to run up to 275 km in just 15 minutes

This new charging station has been designed to meet the diverse needs of customers. It features four V4 Superchargers (DC charging), delivering power up to 250 kW. Additionally, there are four 11 kW destination chargers. The company claims that with these powerful Superchargers, the Model Y electric car can achieve a range of up to 275 kilometers in just 15 minutes of charging.

Mobile app control and a great pop-up store experience

Tesla is offering its users a highly advanced ecosystem. Using the Tesla mobile app, car owners can not only find their nearest charging station, but also pre-condition their battery, monitor charging status, and make payments all from one place. With this, Tesla's network in India now includes 20 Superchargers and 14 Destination Chargers. In addition to the charging station, the company has also opened a spectacular pop-up store in the atrium of Nexus Seawoods Mall. Here, customers can get a close-up look at the Model Y, starting at ₹59.89 lakh, understand its new technology, and enjoy the thrilling experience of a test drive.
