Income tax department unveils new website with AI-powered 'Tax Sathi' for seamless tax filing

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Income Tax Department launched a new website on Thursday. This website, along with an AI assistant called "Tax Sathi," will make filing taxes easier than ever before.

A post by the Income Tax Department on the social media platform 'X' stated that the new Income Tax website has been launched. It is easy to navigate and quick to use. It provides all income tax-related information in one place. The post further stated that it features an AI assistant called 'Tax Saathi' that will simplify your direct tax filing journey. Along with this post, the Income Tax Department posted a video announcing the launch of the new Income Tax website. The detailed design and smart navigation make it easier for users to access information.

The department said that the website has been made inclusive and user-friendly and it can be accessed from desktop, mobile and tablet. Income Tax said that the website has unified tabs in the form of Tax Laws and Rules, Tax Information and Services and Tax e-Services, from where the user will get all the information at one place. It also has guidance tools like FAQs, International Taxation, Tax Calendar and Circulars & Notifications and Income Tax Provisions. Apart from this, AI assistant 'Tax Saathi' is also provided in it, through which taxpayers can ask any of their tax related questions in Hindi or English and get instant solution.

Last month, Ravi Agarwal, chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes, introduced "Tax Saathi" at an event. He said, "This AI-enabled chatbot will provide round-the-clock assistance to taxpayers through the department's website."
