Young man shot dead outside SSP office in Mohali, sparks panic

Mohali (The Uttam Hindu): On Wednesday, in Punjab, assailants shot and killed a young man in broad daylight right outside the Mohali SSP office. The attackers fired 11 rounds without any fear, killing the young man on the spot. The deceased's wife was also with him at the time of the incident. This incident, which occurred outside an office attended by senior police officers, has sent shockwaves throughout the police department.


The deceased has been identified as Gurpreet, a resident of Roorkee, Uttarakhand. According to reports, Gurpreet had come to the SSP office with his wife for some work. As soon as he got out of his car, two bike-borne assailants, who were already lying in wait, opened fire indiscriminately. Gurpreet was hit by three bullets and fell to the ground. After committing the crime, the assailants managed to escape from the scene.


Upon receiving information about the incident, senior police officers rushed to the scene, and all gates to the SSP office were closed for security reasons. Police have sealed off the entire area, and forensic teams have collected evidence from the scene. The body has been sent to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The Mohali SSP stated that preliminary investigations indicate a personal rivalry. Police are reviewing footage from nearby CCTV cameras and have established blockades across the city to search for the attackers.
