A ruthless father kills his own son for insurance money; ₹2.10 crore claim was the motive

Moradabad (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, has shaken people’s faith in the bond between a father and son. A father plotted his own son’s murder to claim an accidental insurance payout of ₹2.10 crore. To execute the plan, he hired contract killers and paid them ₹3.5 lakh.

To make the murder appear like a road accident, the killers dumped the young man's body on the roadside after killing him. The victim was identified as 30-year-old Aniket Sharma. On 26 November, a body was found lying by the roadside in Mohanpur under the Kundarki police station. Initially, the police believed it to be a road accident. However, the post-mortem report revealed that Aniket had been attacked on the head with an iron rod.

During the investigation, Aniket’s father, Baburam Sharma, repeatedly tried to mislead the police by insisting it was an accident. But during strict questioning, he broke down and confessed that he had given a contract to kill his own son for the hefty insurance amount. The investigation also revealed that Baburam had been hiding the fact that Aniket had a ₹2.10 crore insurance policy.
