After Delhi blasts, massive crackdown in Kashmir: 500 locations raided, 600 detained

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) – Security agencies have been put on high alert following a car bomb explosion near Delhi's Red Fort. After initial investigations linked the blast to Jammu and Kashmir, a major operation has been launched in the Valley.
According to sources, Jammu and Kashmir Police and central agencies have raided more than 500 locations so far and detained around 600 people. This action is being carried out mainly on the network of Jamaat-e-Islami. Agencies say that inputs were received that the banned organization Jamaat-e-Islami is once again trying to establish its structure in the valley, after which this search operation was started. According to officials, raids have been conducted in many sensitive districts including Srinagar, Kulgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Baramulla.
Agencies have also begun cracking down on the alleged " Doctor Module
" that emerged during the investigation into the Red Fort blast. According to reports, approximately 10 people, including three government employees, have been detained for questioning.
Several suspects were arrested in an overnight operation in Anantnag, Pulwama and Kulgam districts, officials said. The crackdown against terror networks and their support networks in the Valley has been intensified following Monday's blast near the Red Fort in Delhi, which has so far claimed 13 lives.
Interrogations also revealed that some of the suspects had traveled to Turkey over the past year. Seven people, including doctors, have been arrested in connection with the discovery of a large cache of explosives. More than 200 people have been questioned so far in connection with the "white-collar terrorist" module. This module was exposed when accomplices of two terrorists arrested earlier this month provided crucial information during interrogation.
Raids conducted at more than 650 locations, extremist material recovered.
According to officials, searches were conducted at around 200 locations in Kulgam alone and more than 150 locations in Srinagar.
