New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, accompanied by the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Hon’ble Shri Harivansh Ji, attended the Annual Sports Day ceremony at Delhi Public School (DPS), Mathura Road, on Saturday. She said that sports play a crucial role in fostering self-confidence, discipline, leadership skills, teamwork and positive thinking among children, while experiences on the sports field lay a strong foundation for success in all walks of life. The Chief Minister extended her best wishes to the students and encouraged them to participate wholeheartedly, adopt healthy competition and continue learning alongside sports.

Students, teachers, school management and parents were present at the event. The Chief Minister said that children are the most effective brand ambassadors in the journey to make Delhi clean, beautiful, disciplined, and developed. When children practise discipline, follow rules, and make cleanliness a part of their lifestyle, its positive impact naturally reflects across families and society.

She said that there is no better platform than schools for nurturing responsible citizens. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that today’s students will become tomorrow’s leaders and establish Delhi as an ideal, empowered and developed capital.

Extending her best wishes to all students, the Chief Minister said that a healthy and strong India can be built only through sportsmanship, discipline and dedication. She also conveyed her greetings on the upcoming Republic Day and called upon everyone to work together towards the goals of Vision 2047.
