Kaushambi (The Uttam Hindu): An unusual case of love marriage has surfaced in Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh, where a young man married a woman who was considered his aunt by relation. Despite strong opposition from both families, the couple’s marriage was made possible with the intervention and support of the police.

Love Affair Between Aunt and Nephew

The incident is from the Mohabbatpur Painsha police station area. According to information, 24-year-old Krishna Kumar, a resident of the area, fell in love with Sanjana, a woman from Chitrakoot. The two had been in a relationship for several years and wanted to marry, but the biggest obstacle was their family relation — Sanjana was considered Krishna’s aunt. Because of this, both families strictly opposed the marriage.

Woman Approaches Police for Help

Troubled by the delay in marriage and the families’ refusal, Sanjana reached the Udihin Khurd police outpost seeking help. She explained her situation to the police, who immediately called both families for discussion. After several rounds of counseling, the police convinced the families, who finally agreed to respect the couple’s wishes.

Wedding Held Near the Police Outpost

Once both families consented, preparations for the wedding began in the temple located next to the Udihin Khurd police outpost. Amid music and celebrations, Krishna and Sanjana exchanged garlands. Krishna then tied the mangalsutra around Sanjana’s neck, and the couple completed the traditional seven rounds around the sacred fire.

Police Praised for Their Intervention

The village head and family members of both sides were present and blessed the newly married couple. The duo expressed their happiness and said they were relieved that their love had finally succeeded. The police are being widely praised in the area for resolving the family dispute and helping the couple unite.
