Big disclosure in Delhi blast case: Eight-member module plotted nationwide attacks

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Investigating agencies have found a new clue in the blast near Delhi's Red Fort Metro Station. According to sources, approximately eight suspects had planned to carry out a series of blasts at four different locations. Their plan was to split into four groups of two and travel to different cities to carry out the blasts. Each team was prepared to carry several IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices).
Bombings were planned at several locations across the country, with eight suspects planning the attack; a major revelation in the Delhi terror attack. : Earlier also it was reported that terrorists had planned to carry out blasts on occasions like Diwali and Republic Day. The investigation has also revealed that the person involved in the blast near the Red Fort on the evening of 10 November has been identified as Dr. Umar Mohammad. The DNA of the human remains recovered from the scene was matched with Umar's family members, which confirmed his identity.
Delhi Police said DNA testing confirmed the bomber was Dr. Omar Un Nabi. His leg was trapped between the steering wheel and the accelerator after the blast. His DNA sample matched that of his mother.
According to police, Umar Mohammad was the suicide bomber in the Red Fort Metro parking lot blast. He was a teacher at the medical college of Al Falah University in Faridabad. It is reported that he escaped during a raid by Jammu and Kashmir Police in Faridabad on Monday. The investigation has also revealed that several of his associates are linked to the Delhi blast. Police have detained several suspects in this case and interrogation is ongoing.
