Central Bank of India marks run-up to 115th foundation day with tree plantation at MDI Gurugram

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Central Bank of India Organises Plantation Drive at MDI Gurugram Ahead of 115th Foundation Day As part of its social responsibility initiatives and in the run-up to its upcoming 115th Foundation Day, Central Bank of India regional office Gurugram organised a plantation programme at the Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurugram campus. The programme was graced by Ms. Jyotsana Bhatnagar, Dean – Graduate Programmes, MDI, and Professor Anurag Chauhan, who actively participated in the plantation activity and appreciated the bank’s commitment towards environmental sustainability.
From Central Bank of India, the initiative was led by Regional Head Mr. Sunny Kalra, along with his team. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Kalra highlighted the significance of tree plantation in maintaining ecological balance, combating climate change, and ensuring a healthier future for coming generations. He emphasized that trees play a vital role in improving air quality, conserving biodiversity, and supporting sustainable development. He also mentioned that similar program is being conducted today at 90 different regional offices.
Ms. Jyotsana Bhatnagar lauded the initiative and underscored the importance of collaboration between academic institutions and public sector organisations in promoting environmental awareness. Professor Anurag Chauhan also spoke about the role of educational campuses as green spaces that inspire responsible citizenship among students.
The plantation drive symbolised the long-standing and valued association between Central Bank of India and MDI Gurugram, reflecting shared values of growth, responsibility, and nation-building. The programme concluded with a pledge by all participants to nurture the planted saplings and contribute actively towards environmental conservation.
