New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Dense fog and low visibility put a brake on air traffic in the national capital Delhi on Tuesday. The bad weather had a widespread impact on the Indira Gandhi International Airport, causing huge inconvenience to passengers. A total of 10 flights were cancelled at the airport due to fog, while operations of more than 270 flights were delayed. According to information given by an official, the flights cancelled during the day included 6 arrival and 4 departure flights.

According to data from flight tracking website Flightradar24, departures of flights were delayed by an average of 29 minutes, leading to increased passenger congestion and waiting times at the airport. DIAL, the company operating Delhi airport, shared the latest update on the social media platform X, stating that visibility at the airport is improving, however, despite this, departures of flights to some destinations may be delayed. It is worth noting that Delhi's IGI airport is the busiest airport in the country, handling around 1,300 flights daily, hence this weather has affected the plans of thousands of passengers.
