Delhi blast probe: Investigators monitor social media, collect data from several areas

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The investigation into the car bombing near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi has intensified. Sources indicate that investigating agencies are closely monitoring social media and mobile communications. Investigative agencies are focusing on mobile phone dump data, which is being collected from several areas.
According to sources, dump data is being collected from all mobile phones operating around the Red Fort. Possible phone numbers associated with vehicles parked in the parking area are being identified. Furthermore, the occupants of the bombed vehicle or those associated with it may have communicated with each other, so parking phone data is considered crucial evidence.
According to sources, information about communication patterns is also being gathered through dump data in the Faridabad area to determine how many people were in contact with each other. Sources indicate that the dump data may provide clues to phone numbers directly linked to the blast.
At the same time, an FIR has been registered in this regard at the Kotwali police station in Delhi, in which the statement of the sub-inspector present at the time of the incident has been taken as the basis.
According to Delhi Police sources, the FIR was registered based on the statement of Sub-Inspector (SI) Vinod Nayan of the Red Fort police station. In his statement, SI Vinod Nayan stated that he suddenly heard a loud explosion. He was present at the police station when the blast occurred. Upon returning, he saw that the vehicles parked in the parking lot were on fire.
SI Vinod Nayan further stated that he immediately informed senior officers and the control room after the blast. He, along with his staff, rushed the injured to the nearest hospital.
The blast occurred on Monday evening when a Haryana-registered Hyundai i20 car parked near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro station exploded, killing at least 10 people and injuring dozens.
