New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Delhi Secretariat was rocked on Thursday after receiving a bomb threat via email. As soon as officials became aware of the threat, the police were immediately informed and security agencies swung into action.

Teams from the police, fire brigade, bomb squad, and dog squad arrived at the scene and began a thorough search of the entire premises. Initial investigations have revealed nothing suspicious so far. Police say there's no cause for alarm at the moment, but the search operation is ongoing as a precaution. According to officials, the email mentioned a bomb, prompting security agencies to take immediate action. The word "Khalistan" was used in the email, making the matter more serious. Police are now trying to determine who sent the email and what the motive was.

This incident comes just days after a major security breach at the Delhi Assembly was exposed. On Monday (April 6), a man breached high security and entered the Delhi Assembly premises through the VVIP gate. He then got out of his car, placed a bouquet of flowers near the Speaker's car, and left without any hindrance. He was later identified as Sarabjit Singh, and was apprehended by police within hours.

It is reported that the man drove from Pilibhit to Chandigarh and then Delhi. He entered the Assembly premises by breaking through Gate No. 2. Police arrested him in North Delhi and seized his car. After being produced in court, he was remanded in police custody for eight days. Police are investigating the case to determine if there was any conspiracy and whether anyone else was involved. They are also searching for his mobile phone, which he allegedly discarded. During the investigation, police told the court that the accused appears to be mentally unstable. His lawyer also argued that he is undergoing treatment.
