New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): An earthquake struck Delhi on Monday morning. The tremor occurred at 8:44 am. Delhi falls in Seismic Zone IV, where there is a possibility of moderate earthquakes.

Earthquake shakes Delhi, epicenter in the capital; find out its intensity: According to the National Center for Seismology, the epicenter of the earthquake was in North Delhi. The movement occurred approximately 5 kilometers below the ground, resulting in a 2.8 magnitude earthquake. This is considered a low-intensity earthquake. An earthquake of this magnitude is unlikely to cause damage.

Last year, on February 17th, a 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck Delhi, with its epicenter near Dhaula Kuan.
