Bhubaneswar (The Uttam Hindu): A dispute arising from a love relationship has led to the murder of a young man in Odisha’s capital Bhubaneswar. Police have arrested a young woman and her male companion for the crime. According to investigators, the woman called her former lover to her house late at night and, as part of a planned conspiracy, got him killed.

Police said the deceased had been in a relationship with the accused woman for some time. In recent days, tensions had developed between them over personal issues. Preliminary investigation suggests that the woman lured the युवक to her house late at night under the pretext of reconciliation. As soon as he arrived, the co-accused, who was already present, attacked him.

The victim was seriously injured in the assault. After receiving information, locals rushed him to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Police said several crucial pieces of evidence were recovered from the spot, indicating that the murder was pre-planned.

During the investigation, call detail records and other technical evidence revealed frequent communication between the woman and the co-accused before the incident. Both were taken into custody and questioned, during which several important facts came to light. Police have also claimed to have recovered the weapon used in the murder.

According to police officials, the case appears to be linked to a love affair and personal dispute, though all angles are being thoroughly examined. A case has been registered against both accused under charges of murder and criminal conspiracy. They have been produced before the court and sent to judicial custody.

Police added that further investigation is underway, and action will be taken against anyone else found involved. The incident has created panic in the area, with people shocked that a love dispute could turn into such a brutal crime.
