Kanpur (The Uttam Hindu): A disturbing incident has come to light from HDFC Bank’s Panki Sector-2 branch in Kanpur, where a woman bank employee allegedly crossed all limits of professional conduct. A video that has gone viral on social media shows bank employee Aastha Singh angrily abusing a woman customer and even attempting to attack her by lifting a laptop.

The footage clearly shows the employee losing control in public, hurling abusive language at the customer and creating chaos inside the bank premises. Other staff members present at the branch were seen trying to restrain her and calm the situation, but her anger appeared uncontrollable.

Caste reference used during the altercation

What shocked many viewers was the employee’s open display of caste-based arrogance during the argument. In the viral video, Aastha Singh can be heard intimidating the customer by invoking her caste, saying, “Go and explain to your husband… I am a Thakur.”

Such behavior inside a reputed financial institution left customers and staff stunned. However, it is important to note that the authenticity of the viral video has not yet been officially verified by media or authorities.

Police waiting for formal complaint

Following the video’s rapid circulation on social media, public anger has intensified, with many demanding strict action against the employee and accountability from the bank management. The police have taken note of the incident, but officials stated that no written complaint has been received so far from either party.

Police clarified that appropriate legal action will be initiated as soon as a formal complaint is filed. As of now, HDFC Bank management has not issued any official statement regarding the incident.
