New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): If you're planning to visit friends or relatives on Wednesday amid the festivities of Holi, wait a minute! Before you leave home, it's crucial to know the new public transport timings. Major changes have been made to the operating hours of major transport services like the Delhi Metro, DTC buses, and Namo Bharat Mission for the festival. Leaving home without the correct information could cause significant trouble along the way.

Delhi Metro will remain closed till noon

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has informed passengers that metro services will be completely suspended on all lines until 2:30 pm on Holi. If you plan to travel in the morning, you'll need to change your plans. Trains on all corridors will resume normal service only after 2:30 pm. This important decision has been taken by the Metro administration so that its employees can enjoy the festival to the fullest with their families.

Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro timings also changed

Passengers traveling on the Delhi-Meerut Corridor will also need to exercise special caution on Holi. The Namo Bharat Train and Meerut Metro, which operate on this route, will be completely suspended on Wednesday morning. NCRTC officials have clarified that this service will be available to passengers only from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. It's worth noting that on normal days, this service begins at 6:00 AM, but this significant change has been made due to the festival.

DTC buses will be hardly seen on the roads

Road travelers are also facing difficulties. The first shift of DTC buses has been completely cancelled on Holi. Buses will only be allowed to operate after 2 p.m., but even then, only 25 percent of the buses will be operational. However, the Transport Department has clarified that if a particular route experiences a large passenger traffic, the number of bus trips may be increased.
